| MAGNA CARTA MUSEUM
Value: n/a Salisbury Cathedral has undergone considerable refurbishment to both the interior spaces and the masonry elevations. This work is now complete and the masons sheds are to be taken down allowing a clear view of the spire from the lawn. The cathedral holds one of the few remaining copies of the Magna Carta and the cathedral board plans to construct a new museum in the site of the masons huts to show the Magna Carta in an interpolative environment. The design proposes putting the museum underground with a glazed roof for views of the spire. The materials would be oak, glass and lead. |
